Chaptered

How a Greek booking moves through Igo, from your inbox to your client’s sunset in Fira.

Four predictable stages. You stay in front of the client; we stay in the Greek system. Each chapter is owned by a named specialist — no ticket-hopping, no anonymous inboxes.

  1. 01

    Intake & brief

You send a client brief through the trade portal, by email, or on WhatsApp. Within four working hours a named planner — the same human every time — replies with clarifying questions, a feasibility read on the dates, and a confirmation of which ferry operators will be in play. Complex group bookings (10–80 pax) get a same-day capacity check.

    Avg. response: 3h 40m
  2. 02

    Itinerary build

The planner assembles the route, ferries, transfers, and hand-picked stays using our live integrations with Blue Star Ferries, Hellenic Seaways, SeaJets and Anek-Superfast — the only Greece specialist with all four wired into one quoting engine. Every recommended guesthouse has been slept in by staff; every recommended taverna has been eaten at.

11,400+ nautical miles personally sailed for testing
  3. 03

    White-label delivery

You receive a polished quote in your branding — your logo, your colours, your client’s name, your terms. PDF, web link, or both. Margins, commissions and trade pricing are itemised on a separate page so the client sees a clean retail document. You approve once and we lock the inventory.

Net 14 payment terms on approved accounts
  4. 04

    In-country support

Your clients travel with a 24/7 Greek mobile number that routes to our four in-ground island coordinators. If a Meltemi shuts Piraeus or a strike cancels the 06:00 to Naxos, the same coordinator who built the reroute calls your client within 20 minutes — and you get a status note before your morning tea. We pay for any out-of-pocket rebooking costs caused by our error.

    Avg. in-country response: 18 min

Why agents move to Igo

Why agents move their Greek bookings off OTAs and onto Igo.

A side-by-side of what a trade account actually changes — not marketing copy, just the operational differences that compound across a busy summer.

The OTA route

Booking.com + a generic ferry widget

  • Ferry availability pulled from one operator at a time, often the cheapest, often the wrong one for the connection
  • Hotels sourced from a global inventory with no Greek curation
  • Client support ends at the OTA call centre in Manila or Dublin
  • Commission paid at standard OTA rates, often capped or pro-rata
  • No one answers the phone when the 06:00 ferry from Piraeus is cancelled
The single-operator route

Reselling one ferry line’s tickets

  • Incentive to push the line that pays the highest override, not the one that fits the route
  • No access to Hellenic Seaways or SeaJets for clients who actually need them
  • No on-the-ground coordinators — the operator handles complaints
  • Group bookings frequently bumped in peak week because the agent has no leverage
  • Quote turnaround: whatever the operator’s B2B portal allows

A word from a partner

“It was the second week of August, twenty-two of my clients on three islands, and the 06:00 Blue Star from Piraeus was struck off the schedule at 04:30. By the time my phone rang at 04:55, Elena from Igo had already rebooked everyone on the Hellenic Seaways 09:15, organised coaches to the other terminal, and texted my group leader in three languages. I have never, in fifteen years of selling Greece, had a partner pick up the phone that fast. That is the difference.”

Trade FAQ

The questions our agency partners asked before they sent their first client.

Six we hear constantly. If yours is not here, write to [email protected] and a partner manager replies within one working day.

How is the commission structured, and when is it paid?

Standard trade commission is 10–12% on the land content (hotels, transfers, guides, ferries booked through us) depending on annual volume. Volume tiers top out at 15% for partners sending over 200 room-nights or 600 ferry legs per year. Commission is calculated on the net trade cost after operator discounts and is paid quarterly by bank transfer in EUR, GBP, USD, AUD or CAD — whatever your finance team prefers. There are no clawbacks on cancellations initiated by the operator (strike, weather, mechanical).

Can the quote really carry my agency’s branding and terms?

Yes. Once your trade account is open we send you a one-page brand kit intake (logo, colour, font, footer terms, payment instructions) and from the next booking onward every quote, confirmation, voucher and travel pack is rendered in your house style. The Igo name does not appear on the client-facing document unless you ask for it to. We also accept custom contract clauses — if your T&Cs require a specific cancellation schedule, we mirror it on the itinerary document.

What are the payment terms, and who carries the supplier risk?

Approved accounts receive Net 14 terms on confirmed bookings; new accounts start at payment-on-confirmation for their first three files before moving to Net 14. Igo carries the supplier default risk: if a contracted hotel fails to honour a booking, we relocate the client at our cost and refund your commission on the lost night. We are bonded through IATA (code 27-7 4421), ASTA membership since 2012, and Travelife Partner certification for sustainable tourism since 2022.

How do group bookings and last-minute changes actually work in peak season?

Groups of 10 to 80 passengers are handled by our dedicated groups desk in Plaka. We hold tentative allocations with Blue Star and Hellenic Seaways on the heaviest July–August routes — these are released to trade partners two weeks ahead of sailing. Last-minute changes (a rooming list swap on a Friday afternoon, a missed connection on Sunday morning) go to the same coordinator who built the file; they have direct lines at the four ferry operators and at our 22 partner hotels in Santorini, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Crete and Corfu, so most rebooks happen inside an hour rather than overnight.

Ready to route your next Greek file through Igo?

Open a trade account in about ten minutes. A partner manager in Athens calls you back the same working day to walk through your first booking.
